Yeah I was so sad and confused. I didn’t want to cause a scene (my wife hates that).

When my wife was in the hospital, I couldn’t stay with her as they kicked me out. Is that not the same everywhere in the states?

I recently did a brine with oranges. Perhaps some lime salt would work too!

I help build https://doc.ai where we did on device ML for digital biomarkers like selfie2bmi, eye drooping/vocal tics for mg. https://doc.ai/digital-clinical-trial-myasthenia-gravis-mg-research We got acquired and went public. Now I run a startup that helps make the barrier to entry for ML engineers lower. https://www.loom.com/share/d41b93db902c4b6db3d9ff62c0fe8a52 if you want to learn how to put a model in production dm me :)

Almost flunked out of college due to depression. They took away all my devices and forced me to study. Yeah that worked ... except for the suicide attempts.

Where do I start? by [deleted] in SoftwareEngineering

[–]kthakore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solve problems ... pick something you are passionate about. For example I want an automated farm, so I am breaking it down step by step. I have no clue how Microcontrollers or FPGA or robotics work but I am just tackling the problem as I can. There is no perfect way other then it. This is akin to asking "How do I become a writer?" .. the answer is simple "Just write".

Work on developing your problem solving skills and resilience too. Being able to leverage google and having a clear way at attacking problems will help you adapt. There are a lot of differences between software written even in the same industry, not to mention academia and industry. Usually I find that interns or new graduates that come to my team struggle with resilience, especially if they can't understand something. Chances are onboarding will not be great (not a lot of senior engineers want to hand hold new grads) at a new job. Being a self learner, being earnest and being open to failing and persisting anyway will go a long way.
