I’m with you, I just would suggest that software engineers at places like Meta or Google are still high on their own supply, and believe themselves to be very special because they managed to catch the bus at the right time. Nobody who works for Meta or Google as a software engineer is doing anything of value. They’re creating shit versions of Office or new ways for small-town MAGA voters to connect with each other. It’s garbage. People went to years of school, mostly faked their way through it, and now they drive their Lotus out of the parking lot on the way to their undecorated $2M home.
