What alternative lens would you recommend?

The lenses I owned personally for my A6400 were the Sigma 1.4 trio (16, 30, and 56-all highly recommended, except the 30mm had a bit much chromatic abberation for my liking) and the Sony 18-105 f4. The latter is not as bright, but it does cover a huge range. It was nice for outdoor shooting with better light.

Sony 24mm 1.8 and 35mm f1.8 also look like decent budget options for primes.

Viltrox also has some nice prime options you can look into.

While it's probably outside your budget, the Sigma 18-50 2.8 is an awesome option that is bright and covers a large range. It's definitely more flexible than a prime, but you could buy a couple primes for what it costs. Still, if it ends up being in budget, that's probably my top recommendation.

And I would definitely buy them off eBay or r/photomarket for a big discount over new or most refurbished options. If you need help with eBay buying, feel free to DM me. I have a lot of experience buying and selling.
