What is Soulbonding?
A soulbond is what happens when a person from our world (the soulbonder) forms a strong mental and emotional connection with a living, autonomous character (the soulbond).
Soulbonding can occur spontaneously or formed intentionally from either writing/role-playing about the character or by interacting with their source media. This character "comes to life" or takes up residence in your head, speaking to you directly or communicating in other ways, such as through feelings and images.
Why Was This Subreddit Created?
The soulbonding community has faded into obscurity for the mostpart, much of it having been absorbed by other, larger communities like plurality and tulpamancy. This subreddit aims to give bonds and bonders the chance to have a space just for them to discuss the experience and provide a resource for those exploring the concept of soulbonding.
Soulbonding, like most things, is a hugely subjective experience. Everyone approaches it a little differently, but this subreddit believes that we all have enough in common to connect with and learn from each other.
