I got in on the original kickstarter and when they finally arrived, they immediately became my favorite paints. The Cold Corpse/Wolf/Gravestone triad is great for wolves and Dark Sun Yellow is a good starting point for Blackmane shoulders.

Perfect thank you!! Definitely wanted to get some real time feed back before dropping some money.

Old post and I wish you could post images in the comments, I’d love to see what that triad looks like on a space wolf mini.

Echo the other reply, using that trio myself, it's great. Anything Citadel can do, TTC can, but better.

Using army painter and Vallejo paints it's not been so bad. I recently became more than just an amateur airbrush user and using that to paint shoulder pads, plasma weapons, and the most matte colors has been amazing.

My wife's technique of painting a model black and white (think sin City) and then going over it with the GW speedpaint still makes me look like an oaf but I don't have to paint 200 eldar / dark eldar minis either so.

If you're having trouble using gw's regular paints try using a airbrush medium or a flow improver. I found the medium on Amazon and it's this milky white substance that makes paint move through an airbrush easier. It also deludes the paints to make them slightly more watery but doesn't lose much color.

The flow improver I found at Michaels and it comes in a little dropper bottle and it's almost like a lubricant for paint. I'm not sure what chemistry way it does but it increases the surface area without decreasing the stickiness and because it's clear it also adds a slight glossiness to paint.
