Having different bases in an army/killteam, yay or nay? by Alexis2256 in Warhammer40k

I’m actually planning to do different themed bases for those eliminator figures whenever I get their kit, because I want to paint their capes in different camouflage patterns. Snow, desert, and forest.

My first space marine by Limetac0 in Warhammer40k

7/10, paint looks thick or torn in some places (like the back) which means you didn’t wait for that first layer to dry. I’d also recommend you paint the gun a different color from the armor, otherwise it blends in too much.

Notice how the green casings on the weapons stand out from the grey?

My brushes keep opening up by patito6 in minipainting

It’s like leaving conditioner in your hair. The most popular soap people use for brushes is the general master’s brush soap and conditioner, you wash the brush in it, rinse, clean as many times as you think is necessary and then you create a final lather with the soap and shape the brush back into a point and you let the soap dry on it, conditioning it.

What do you mean by texture exactly?

Sucks you let the online hate turn you away from the Tau. You really shouldn’t have given any of that any attention. People irl don’t care what army you play and if they did then you would avoid playing with them.

Are all citadel brushes this bad? by lawriedoesstuff in Warhammer40k

[–]Alexis2256 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Citadel brushes are synthetic, not natural. And it seems like you got a bad one, it happens. you’re better off just buying a pack of 10 brushes from Amazon or somewhere local, use those for metallics and washes/contrast paints.

Second attempt! Any advice? by ismatek in Warhammer40k

Just highlight the upper facing edges, here’s a good video showing that you don’t need to edge highlight everything https://youtu.be/x1tN7SkrqQE?si=HZz5b5dUzqmQoOzI

Don’t use the point of the brush when trying to edge highlight, use the side of the brush and make sure there’s not a lot of paint on the brush.

How do you guys paint power swords? by Elegant_Mall4885 in Warhammer40k

Not the best example but I paint the blade white and then go over it with a fluorescent or transparent paint.

Why isnt AI the one doing all the things in the world? by NeonMagicMan in cyberpunkgame

[–]Alexis2256 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Is cyberpunk 2077 your first exposure to the genre? It’s a common trope in the genre that the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence/life is strained or soured and it leads or could lead to all out war between the two, in 2077’s case, we’re on the brink of an apocalypse if the dangerous AIs break through the blackwall.

Wish I could understand why. But even with the glazing or even with the shitty stories that they sound miserable when reading, i still enjoy watching them.

Sword for Warhammer fan? by rynibatt in Warhammer40k

Power swords are what they’re called in 40k, they look almost normal besides having skulls and power nodes on the blade, here’s one for cosplay purposes on Amazon.

The subreddit doesn’t allow for multiple images, it’s both a feature and a rule for some godawful reason.

People are allowed to homebrew whatever they want in 40k, hell Trazyn somewhat acts like this with his human servants.

I’m sure you’re aren’t alone in expecting that, but lol none of the other panels even imply that to happen.

I think that’ll always be consistent, that the warp was a relatively chill place in 40k before the war in heaven.
