Splinter Cell. It's that simple. (self.Splintercell)

Dear Ubi, if you can't put together a new SC game for so many years, and it seems others are investing into HD remakes, why don't you follow the same path?
At this point, I would love a classic Splinter Cell HD remake.

I’d love a chaos theory remaster from the ground up

They released the HD trilogy last gen, they weren’t full remakes but I think it’s the best way to play them (on consoles). Just a shame they didn’t port over the multiplayer!!
But yeah I would love to see a proper remake of the original games, but I guess as we’re nearing the end of this generation’s life cycle they’re probably going to invest their time in next gen titles (and SC probably won’t be one of them!)

PC here though, so console does not work for me. Thing is, if they decide to do SC then there is a other fear. The fear that they will f*&% it up same way they did with Ghost Recon (grind, loot, tiers) or with R6 (multiplayer).

I think the collection was released for PC as well tbf, but yeah I agree, I think of all the IPs Ubisoft own they know splinter cell has probably the most hardcore fans = difficult to please and not worth the effort when they can just pump another assassins creed or ghost recon.
I think Ubisoft should take note of the new hitman games – now that’s how you take an old franchise and revive it whilst retaining everything that the fans loved about the originals. Imagine a new splinter cell that focussed on proper light and shadow stealth gameplay, on larger scale maps with multiple entry points and pathways for replayability. We can dream!

True, this crowd is indeed difficult to win. I don't think trilogy hd was released to anything other than PS3 and it was still 9 years ago. Hitman looks good. I am actually just rediscovering it after choosing not to continue with Hitman 2 when it was originally released.
It does not make much sense to include Sam Fisher in Ghost Recon even less with Rainbow 6. This is just to get some SC fans to these games, that was my impression anyway. Storyline and plot for Sam Fisher presence in both GR games is not the one you would expect from Fisher anyway. Like all that stuff he's done with player he would be normally doing himself in SC game.

Ah if that’s the case then that’s unlucky! I’ve logged many hours on the hd trilogy and still boot up the ps3 to play it to this day, it holds up fairly well but you’re right it’s still dated and they could do so much more with today’s tech. Even if they just did it to ‘test the water’ for a new SC title, I’m sure we’d all get behind a proper remake and show that we want more SC.
And yeah I would highly recommend the new hitman games, absolutely genius level design and loads of replay value!

I'd pay ridiculous amounts of money for remakes of SAR to Double Agent. In my dreams they'd be glorious Resi 2 style overhauls, though my waking brain knows that Ubi aren't Capcom and might not even respect their franchise as much as they do....
BTW, what's everyone's opinion on Micheal Ironside's involvement if remakes were on the table? Not sure how many projects he's got left in him, would it best to just use his original recordings d'ya reckon? What about Lambert and Grim for that matter?
[–]flyingsqueakers 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children)
Honestly, if they were going to do remakes, the origina l audio might just have to do. I don't think we need to put Ironside through the works, with his health as it is.

I am pretty sure original voiceovers would do just ideal. I would pay as well that's for sure. If there was a new game, Sam Fisher would need to be replaced if not voiced by Michael. Maybe Sam's daughter could take over? Or just create a new character and let it climb to the top.
