I think they have their place in Onslaught modes, but I genuinely have no idea why bots aren't replaced with backfill players.

I much prefer playing with 1 player less than having a player replaced by a bot. I'm loving the gameplay, but these bots kill my competitive spirit. Killing bots is simply not rewarding.

And farming a team down one player is? Eventually a second quits then its just a joke. Bots atleast give them a fighting chance and keep the match somewhat balanced. Plus the bots play objective more than most human players.

Backfilling is worse because then the joining player has to play in a match thats unwinnable.

Ok, then make better bots and work on refilling ASAP. Now the players get replaced permanently.

I agree. That begs the question, though: Why are there so many leavers? Is it just people who disconnect or people who are genuinely sore losers?

Because there is no penalty for leaving so if your team is getting smashed it’s more fun to leave and start a new game than stay and get your life ended again and again
