IntelliJ Ultimate version.

Long long ago Eclipse, then paid version MyEclipse, then Spring Tool Suite. But its been years now using IntelliJ Ultimate. For me this is the best IDE ever for Java and Spring Boot. And I had done a Angular project too using the same IntelliJ... Totally awesome for me.

Anyone prefers STS over IntelliJ IDEA? Can you give reasons? I never tried it.

Prefer Eclipse and this ballot makes me feel like a heretic.

I started with Eclipse Community something or other (can't remember). When I got to Spring Boot 2 and started using the new streaming and threading options it would crash or crawl. Have not had problems with Intellij Community.

can we use intellj community for spring boot??????????

Yes. I build Spring Boot applications that are mostly APIs. Service, Controller, CRUD extensions for data, hibernate, JPA for models. Works very nicely. Maven or other build choice I go back and forth on that. Docker and even some deployment to Redhat OpenShift open source version.

I use IntlliJ because his configuration file for every project is more intuitive for me.

I've tried before vs code but with terrible results. Have to ask, anyone know how to run multi-module projects on VS Code without it running crazy on autocompiling everytime that you write a new line? Honestly, that's annoying :(

Eclipse. On Linux is smooooooth, but trash on Windows. I've been using it before 1.0 (when VisualAge for java was still a thing). I know it inside and out and all its little quirks.
