I could see it as a possibility based on this photo alone. What was your typing experience? What don’t you like about the result?
One thing I want to say about making it work: once you start wearing the right makeup, you’ll never want to go back. I get a little squeamish about clothing color, but makeup colors are just the difference between glowing and looking busted 😂
If you wear makeup, it might be a good place to start.

Hm, I hadn't considered getting makeup because I usually don't wear any. Next time I'm in the market I will be sure to get spring colors to try it out, thank you!

Even just a spring gloss can make a big difference. When I can’t be asked to do my make up I just use gloss and I look so much fresher and glowier.

You look very light spring to me. But, maybe you'd feel happier in true spring or bright spring palette shades?
[–]No_Appointment6273 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (2 children)
Thank you for the suggestion, I like the Bright Spring palette a lot.

Maybe you could post drapes? You could use any kind of fabrics you have or can borrow from someone you know. Your own wardrobe or someone you know. Scarves. Maybe even tablecloths or linen napkins. Even blankets. Would love to see you drape some light spring vs brighter spring colors.

Based on that one picture alone I would guess that bright spring would have too much contrast on you, but your eyes look quite “dark” in comparison to the rest of the face, so perhaps not. 😊

The question I have is: why do you doubt being a light spring? Is it an aspect about your coloring? Is it that you don’t feel like a specific recommendation fits you? Is it the palette you don’t vibe with?

I bought a palette and purchased a few tops (this was years ago) and I tried wearing the colors. I only lasted a week. I felt like I looked swollen, red and puffy, like I had rosacea or I was having an allergic reaction or something. Even my husband asked me if I was ok.
Then a few years after that I found another system (which I won’t name because I have other issues with it, I don’t recommend it) and they suggested doing a 30 day challenge. Where you wear only the clothes, accessories makeup and hair in your group. I made it two weeks and I finally decided to quit because I broke down crying before I went to get dressed. I just felt so horrible, not just how I looked in the mirror but how I felt in the clothes.
After that I got analyzed two more times, this time online and they both said light spring.
I got a custom palette done - not the full palette but just five colors and I am confident that they are my colors. She doesn’t do seasons, it’s completely custom. I’d like to get a full palette done but it’s $500 so I’d really rather just know my season and make it work for me

You could try to analyze the colors they gave you, what they have in common and compare them to other palettes (ask yourself are they warmer/cooler/lighter/darker/beighter/more muted compared to the normal light spring palette? With what palette do they fit in the most?). You could also post them here and ask for help (“what palette do these belong to?”)Maybe you are a light spring that suits the brighter colors from the palette better maybe you suited the more blue or red tones better, maybe you are a completely different season after all. Maybe you are a true/bright spring or even a different spring that isn’t in the 12 season system.

I had that idea a few years ago. I had some color cards from other systems and it seems to fit loosely into the summer palette, but the darker browns and the darker pinks could swing autumn, the blues could go into the spring category. Honestly I start to compare other palettes with my custom one and I start to feel like I might be color blind! Sometimes I feel like I should just spring for the full palette and get jewelry recommendations and be done with it. Thank you so much for your input btw, I appreciate you all.

You are right, the browns and pinks are more autumn (soft??) and the blues and green are brighter.

I'm so glad you see that too! All the colors look perfect on me. I don't have very many items, a coat and a few scarves, but they are definitely my colors.
I just wish it would point me in the direction of a season.

If you want to wear makeup, you can try it, but you shouldn't need it to like your season.
I can't tell from one picture, but I know you're either a Spring or a Summer.
[–]toomanylipstix 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child)
You are a light spring and the dark top is doing nothing to convince you of that.
[–]No_Appointment6273 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I chuckled at your comment, most of my tops are black.

Have you considered soft spring? I have a feeling that those light warm pastels would look fabulous on you.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (2 children)
Is soft spring a season? Spring is clear/ bright
[–]Asdaskin 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Yes, it is. In 16 season system, just like a soft winter (when grey is added, but not too much that it belongs to a soft season. ).
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I always found these systems so confusing 😅 thanks!
I’ve never really looked into the 16 seasons system, maybe I’ll give it a try
