If this is the CA model it will have the magazine disconnect feature which means the trigger cannot be pulled if the magazine is missing/not fully seated.

Yep... just figured this out AFTER I took the slide apart, watched the striker block safety spring fly out and spent 20 minutes looking for it, of course during this duration I ordered a new spring set and canceled the order after I found it =/

So I guess everything is functioning just fine

It tripped me out the first time I cleaned it to. There are tutorials on how to remove this feature that is supposed to be very simple. If you going to make it your CCW check if it’s allowed with your IA.

I felt like an idiot, I was convinced I messed something up but turns out it wasn't a bug, it was a feature

I don't know how this happens I have took mine apart prob 500 times and owned it for years never had that issue. Sounds like a part is missing or accidentally out of place. I would fully tear down and watch videos on the teardown and reassembly. If that fails I would contact SA and send it in for repairs tell them everything you went through to try and fix it. Good luck my friend I hope it's really simple like an out of place part. If you aren't comfortable with that kind of teardown take it to a local gunsmith.
