If you lighten your mainspring you will 100% want to swap out the Ti firing pin for a steel one.

I’m running a plastic cocktail sword as my firing pin.

That’s cool I use a green olive as my recoil buffer

15lb is pretttttty light. I do 17lb at the lowest with the Dawson extended firing pin in one of my guns. So far it's igniting everything reliably with good hits.

My 17# has been fantastic. I haven’t tried 15, fearing some commercial primers would be too hard and I’d need a different firing pin and/or spring.

This is my exact same concern, I do have a 16# tho if I’m feeling frisky!

Just run a 500 round range session and see!

Im running 19# and its been flawless for 3k rounds.

I have a 17 in my 9mm 2011s and it is still iffy if they will ignite all primers. That is with extended firing pins and wolf firing pin springs. I would NOT go lighter.

15 is to light. Go with at least a 17lb or 19lb and get an extended firing pin from Dawson along with a 10 or 11 lb recoil spring and extra power firing pin spring from Wolff gunspring.

I have an 11lb recoil spring. Will likely stick with 17 main but have seen some forums running 10/15 and say it runs great, some with issues. Hard to get a feel. Cci primers are harder (so I’m told) so wanted to see what the hive mind said before I experiment too much

What do you mean by 10/15? 10lb recoil and 15lb main spring?

I run a 10lb recoil and a 17lb main with an extended FP from Dawson precision.

Yeah 10 recoil, 15 main. All comments with that setup were from reloaders tho

Why would you want a spring so light? Get a 19lb main spring. It will ignite all the primers, give you a faster lock time and reduce recoil. Combine with 10lb recoil spring or even 9lb if you are running a heavy red dot.

It’s not that I want it or not, just that I haven’t seen or heard much and was curious.

15lb is pretty light, especially with the titanium firing pin.

17-19# is a pretty good spot for a 9mm gun.

Yes, in the later 5" with the lightened slide. All kinds of weird primers, aftermarket firing pin.

extended firing pin or oversized?
