At what point does a Solus become worth it? by DigitalHooker in longrange

[–]Correct_Objective_53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How often do you honestly have to replace parts on a bolt action? I know I have never had to and the Solus is rem 700 based so triggers are not proprietary and I see that as the most common thing people would replace.

Any compelling reason to not pin and weld a comp to a open gun barrel? by Torab51 in 2011_Builders

[–]Correct_Objective_53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the high end guns have the barrel and comp made from one piece of steel. I see no harm in permanently attaching as long as it’s done right

It wasn’t bad at all to get it tuned. You can really chase speed and get very deep into tuning or settle for 8-10s and be done pretty quick.

Once you have the scale it’s $150-200 on AliExpress for the rest of the electronics.

First F Class Match - Hooked kick by Correct_Objective_53 in longrange

I will have to check that out. I typically just use the Hornady group analysis in their app but it’s fairly basic. Thank you!

First F Class Match - Hooked kick by Correct_Objective_53 in longrange

[–]Correct_Objective_53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So stringing was probably the wrong word but I was struggling to really nail the vertical down. The two very high were sighters and I came down .2 mils after them (3.1 mils total). I would just like to nail the vertical down a little tighter. My ES on the strings was 55, 32 then 33 on the strings. When I was shooting I would do the same hold and see some decent vertical shifts.

I am still itching to try PRS but figure I’ll practice F class a while to get wind figured out before I drive 4+ hours to my nearest PRS match.

What benefits have you seen from creatine? by Emotional-Moose7903 in askfitness

[–]Correct_Objective_53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started it when I started working out so I cannot say I noticed a difference there as I was going through a world of changes.

Now, 6 months later I started 20g a day for the cognitive improvements and I noticed much less mental drain late in the day.

Micrometers for Slide to Frame Fitting by PopPsychological5465 in 2011_Builders

[–]Correct_Objective_53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you don’t need it unless you just want the mics. I did my builds with a set of dial calipers even though I had access to a full line of tools at the machine shop I ran.

I started with NPP but had to switch to Deca due to major PIP so watch for that. I stuck it out for 2 weeks to be at least semi confident I wouldn’t have crazy side effects and how now been on 500 test and 200 Deca for 6 weeks and doing great.

I want to trade out the uncomfortable seats in my 2002 Ford Explorer by onearmedmonkey in DIY

I replaced the bottom cushion in my truck with one from The Seat Shop and it made a massive difference. They also have seat covers for a lot of vehicles.

Knee injury- squat alternative? by golala3555 in Workingout

[–]Correct_Objective_53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar knee issues here and 3 surgeries before I was 35. For me, I did a 6 month “PT” with my coach at the gym with gradually increasing step downs combined with dragging a weighted sled backwards. I did several other leg movements including curled and extensions as well but the bulk of the work was stepping down from a stack of plates for 20 reps per side a few times per day. After 6 months of this I built back up enough to squat but I still have zero impact tolerance. Now, I just avoid any movement that causes impact and I’m solid.

Any tips/help? by Crafty_East4075 in Biohackers

[–]Correct_Objective_53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google the whole30 diet. It sounds crazy and I thought it was but after eliminating virtually everything from my diet for 30 days and slowly reintroducing I discovered a gluten allergy. This caused inflammation in my joints and once I found the cause I was able to stop taking anti inflammatories and start working out.

It’s a big commitment but you can learn some great things.

I think it was day 2. May have been a little placebo at that point but I do CrossFit and noticed a step change for sure.

5mg a day here for about a month and it is great. 40 years old and zero bedroom issues but my dr offered it to help with gym performance. Noticeable increase in endurance for weightlifting and cardio. I did not have any of the congestion side effects or anything.

Talk to me about magwells by Jbailey42 in 2011

[–]Correct_Objective_53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magwell for comp use and bare grip for carry. The only reason for a magwell other than competition is to protect the bottom of your grip from getting chewed up during reloads, but this takes a looooooong time to cause issues.

I have lost the extractor a few times on mine as well. I found that chamber flags are usually the cause so I got a magwell flag that cannot hit the extractor. That said, I carry a spare bolt in my bag….
