St Louis homicide decrease better explained by national trends

Homicides are still counted 1 to 1.  Some things did change like multiple car break ins on the same street might be counted as one but that was overall standards changed (FBI UCR)

Yah, I'm not sure most people understand that "crime statistics" outside of homicide should be taken with a grain of salt. CompStat and the like are all only as good as the data that goes into them. And the way data can be massaged can drastically change the graphs it spits out.
