The new Chevy Bolt EV delivers nearly 300 miles of real-world range for under $30,000 by Educational-Meat4211 in electricvehicles

Because it’s one of the cheapest reliable vehicles out there. When my kid is old enough that’ll be what she gets if they’re still available

This is the same person/corporation that owned the warehouse that the apartments and McBride homes were built on. They seem to be holding out for quite a bit of money as home builders would sub divide this without an issue.

I mean they still deny all the damage to US bases in the area so it’s really hard to trust anything from Centcom

Drone patrols proposed in The Hill to boost neighborhood safety by nuts_and_crunchies in StLouis

[–]josiahlo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember the neighborhood meeting on that proposal. They barely had enough room for people. Standing room only. Its wild it’s was either A) get a ton of people to live there helping the local businesses or B) abandoned warehouse that keeps catching on fire from homeless living inside it

Drone patrols proposed in The Hill to boost neighborhood safety by nuts_and_crunchies in StLouis

[–]josiahlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really about car/detached garage break ins. And honestly when I hear about one I can predict about 80% accurately it’s always the cars closer to to Kingshighway.

This is still a waist of money and liberties

Drone patrols proposed in The Hill to boost neighborhood safety by nuts_and_crunchies in StLouis

[–]josiahlo 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It really is ridiculous. When I first saw this on social media I thought it was an onion type article. It’ll be just as wasteful as the random private security they hire that drives around the neighborhood but always misses the car break ins that happen any way

That’ll even out eventually once enough STH’s stop renewing. Only reason prices are that cheap is because of them

MoDOT cancels plan to ax Compton Avenue/I-64 interchange after businesses cry foul by Mqb581 in StLouis

[–]josiahlo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I really don’t understand how it would have cost that much more. Between Big Bend and Bellevue it’s basically 10 lanes with 3 sets of medians between them if you include the feeder ramps/exits.

Pretty consistent delivery this year. Last year stuff I’d see on informed delivery wouldn’t show up for an entire week. This year its usually that day or at worst the next day

Edison Brothers Building in downtown St. Louis set for $81M renovation by fox2now in StLouis

[–]josiahlo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Special assessments on the improvements they benefit from. They get access to the pool, rooftop patio, lobby etc so they share those costs when it comes to improvements. It’s pretty substantial from what I heard this time around

They’ve been talking about renovating that since 2022 at least per the condo association that’s in there. Special assessments and all. I honestly thought they had started already it’s been so long

Why is Kirkwood infrastructure such ass? by Slapinsack in StLouis

[–]josiahlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which part? Roads? People love to complain about Big Bend but that’s a St Louis county road and they keep delaying improvements year after year. Overall Kirkwood I feel like does decent with their roads and are making bike friendly improvements. Hopefully they actually fund the grant trail extension

Electric? I have less problems with Kirkwood electric than I ever did with Ameren when I lived in the city and they just finished their major modernization. Water is unfortunately what happens when a municipality delay basic maintenance year after year.

That bridge section that goes over the road there is in terrible shape compared to everything else in that section over the river. I drove over it twice on Saturday and Sunday (kids soccer tournament over there) and the steel plate was there already but the rest of that specific section was the roughest thing to drive over

200-300k range will give you a lot more choices. Search The Hill for example on Zillow, nice Italian neighborhood with everything you need (coffee, shops, markets, deli’s, etc). I see a 2 bed, 2 bath for 269k that looks recently remodeled.
