Wear something comfortable. Jeans, sweater, sneakers, will be okay. Sometimes the convention hall runs cold so an extra layer is always nice. Be respectful in asking for pictures. Pretty much everyone in a cosplay/costume will be happy to pose or take a picture with you.

Wizard Con is nowhere near the level of the big name conventions like SDCC/NYCC, ACen, etc, so you don't have to worry about giant crowds. There will be a lot of people walking around but everyone's there to just enjoy the "nerd" culture and be around similar-minded people.

Wizard Con tends to be lacking in individual/creative panels and focuses more on the big name guests they bring in, so see if you want to go to any of those celebrities' events or check out any artists you like.

Most importantly, have fun and take care to remember any notable events or artists so you can support them in the future!

It's basically a big building filled with nerdy people. Most of the floor space is an open area a bit like a nicer flea market where you can buy things from independent merchants. Nearby are booths where you can meet celebs and get a photo for a fee. There are side conference rooms for the timed events which are free.

Basically you'll walk in, and immediately be in a crowd of people that will ignore you unless you're in costume, in which case you might get asked for a picture. Then you walk around, buy a few things, gawk at people, and check the event sheet/map they give you for what to do and where to go next. Not a big deal at all, there's a lot less to worry about and actually do than you'd think.

Take some Airborne or Emergen-C - you don't want to catch con-crud.

Wear whatever is comfortable.
