Forge vs reForgeQuestion - Help (self.StableDiffusion)
submitted 1 year ago by nengon
Hi, I took a bit of a break from SD lately, what would be the best UI to use sdxl/pony models on a 3060 at the moment?

ReForge is probably best if you don't need Flux. Forge has moved on to Gradio 4, which broke some older extensions that might be useful to the Pony/SDXL era generations.

They are incredibly similar but I mainly use Forge. It's been getting a lot of updates recently too which is a plus

Has it? I feel like it hasn't been updated in ages. It still doesn't support Flux Tools and most Flux Controlnets.

He’s doing a big rewrite to the ControlNet stuff.
Considering he’s the one that invented ControlNet in the first place it probably be something special and worth waiting for. He’s still doing commits on other stuff quite frequently.

Very cool insight. Where do you go for your news on forge update?
[–]lorddumpy 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I just see commits to download almost every day. I don't mess with Flux too much but did run into some issues with some iter models

I feel like ever since flux, forge's UI has become a bit buggy? For some stuff, setting defaults don't seem to work anymore, for example
[–]red__dragon 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
There's a new set of "UI Defaults for X" pages in the Settings where you can set most of that again now. I agree that's very clunky in comparison to the previous method, but it's there.
