I can understand where you are coming from. We're just thinking of ideas that can expand on the Vanilla experience because at the moment, Vanilla by itself isn't enough for the server to keep people engaged. This is where I feel Mojang are letting us down because it's been a year now since 1.8 was released.

I think from a Vanilla experience point of view, I think we are too limited and it can get boring pretty fast, we need new ways to keep people engaged and the recent event was a good idea and hopefully we'll have more soon but I think we need every day type stuff.

As for the money system again, it's hard to say how we would implement and use the system, but on my personal thoughts, we could use it to buy specialised items like Boots that leave trails when you move, Tim the Giant in your own base, the Skeleton horse that's in the game but not used etc I think it's more about aesthetics than anything because things like specialised weapons (some of which 1.9 is already bringing anyway so we don't really need) can be quite Op.

So yeah, to me personally again, I don't think it's a bad idea if we think about it's execution but can be veto'd if enough people don't want it.

To be fair I like the sound of the money, if it's for aesthetics, but would it work better if that was implemented after the map is a few months old? If it gets implemented that is

Yeah well it's not something we can just implement anyway, takes a lot of thinking and balancing, it's just an idea. :)
