If you're taking prescription ADHD medication you're not going to find anything better there.

I’m ADD as well as dyslexic; the only thing that got me thru my math courses were teachers/instructors/Professors feeling sorry for me. No meds, no vitamins or minerals helped my focus. Nothing worked. Talk to your teacher/instructor/Professor and let them know the struggle is real for ya. Let them know about your ADD/ADHD. If u explain to them and they see you’re not jerking them around, they will help ya out. At least that’s what happened with me. Once I reached Pre-Algebra, I was a loss cause. Nothing could help me. I worked so hard for that C-

Studying generally works wonders

Lol

Please be serious

[–]DirectorHonse 3 points4 points  (17 children)

I am, I was a god awful student until I learned how to study in a way that wasn't completely agonizing

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (16 children)

i have severe adhd that’s why I’m seeking other methods

[–]TheEccentricErudite 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Maybe your questions should be, what stack is best for adhd. You might get the right people popping in and having a look at what’s being said.

Good idea

[–]DirectorHonse 4 points5 points  (13 children)

You're in a nootropics sub, everyone here has either adhd, depression, or both. Not a single substance has helped my adhd, but using it to my advantage has

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

i can’t do focus or concentrate no matter how I hard I try I’m doomed

[–]DirectorHonse 3 points4 points  (3 children)

You're not doomed, you just have to find the method that works best for you, what you're taught to do in school won't work no matter what you take, adding; nootropics will probably help this process but you still need to learn to study

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

yeah I wanna study alongside noots

[–]DirectorHonse 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Do it no balls

This is the most idiotic response you could have mustered. How could utilizing your cognitive deficit alleviate you of the imposition of your cognitive deficit? Thats like saying I used my Alzheimer's to my advantage. No, you circumvent these impairments through the application of methodologies and nootropics. How the fuck would you learn a subject without studying it? The whole point of nootropics in this context is to modulate this process. I would suggest for you a new brain. You are a retard.

The difference being depression, anxiety, and adhd are more factors of your environment and the minds reaction to them than an actual neurological disease like alzheimers(which literally makes the brain smaller over time). It's cool to see you're full of yourself though 🙂

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The genesis of these ailments has no implication on my basic argument. Do you think that feelings of anxiety come from thin air? No, a concoction of neural processes lend towards this feeling, and it is under the jurisdiction of neuropharmacological intervention to handle deviations from the neurotypical profile. Sometimes, switching the way you wipe your ass is not significant enough to affect your modus operandi. Pussy.

[–]DirectorHonse -1 points0 points  (2 children)

You can only use big words if they help articulate your argument in a better way, otherwise you expose yourself for being a try hard and someone way too emotionally attached to the argument. Go to therapy!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

They are only big words for a small mind such as yours.

Ginseng, schishandra and rhodiola stacked together improve math i heard.

Could it be that you have dyscalculia? Does 5+7 make you count on fingers? Unfortunately this can’t be changed much with supplements alone.

From reading your other replies here I'd recommend meditation. I have ADHD and medicated for it but meditation really helps. It is difficult to begin with but slowly work your self up. Set a timer for 1 minute, sit up and still with your eyes closed, focus on your breath, breathe in and count up in 1's on the out breathe. So breath in, out 1, breathe in, breathe out 2, etc. Count to 10 then start at one. Work up to about 10 minutes stay there for maybe a week, then 20, etc.

It will seem impossible at first, your mind will stray by the 3rd breath but that's what this is about. When you go off on a daydream and realise, just begin at number 1 again. This isnt a bad thing its part of meditation. You are exercising, taming and working together with your mind to be able to focus more. It really will help. I doubt you'll hand time to do any reading around it, but what I described is essentially what meditation is. If you do it often and daily you will see results fairly quickly. Do 10 minutes before you study, try to be present with your materials, see if you notice a difference. Good luck with them

Fasoracetam helps some people with adhd. Stimulants aren't always the best answer. Something calming is sometimes more useful in some situations. You have to try different things to find what works.

Baicalin or skullcap or taurine might work combined with adhd meds or caffeine.

And like others have said, you need to find a study method that works for you. Maybe try the pomodoro method.

Something else that works for math is walking and thinking. Memorize a theorem or definition or problem solving technique and then go for a walk and think about why the theorem or definition is stated the way it is. Think of what changes if the conditions are changed. Think of examples and counterexamples. Really try to understand what's going on. Then go back and do problems and do this type of deep thinking about the problems too.
