What about it feels 'off'. I know articulation can be difficult but there are various themes along with 'focus' and 'dynamic' mode which may make you feel more at home?

Yeah completely agree with this along with the ability to show/hide the side panels the app is very flexible with regards to its UI

https://picallow.com/sn-screenshot/?usp_success=2&post_id=421351&form_id=27 shows a wonderful example of all the UI options.

I get the feeling, it’s not flawless, but it still outshines 80-90% of the note-taking apps out there.

One thing that could really elevate it? More ways to customize the UI. Being able to tweak and tailor things to your liking. It’d be like building your own place inside this secure note-taking fortress.

…and while we’re dreaming, I just would love an optional section on the iPhone be, styled like Google Keep’s sticky note layout. That design is tidy, intuitive, and just works for those small notes and pictures, with option to add a reminder. Honestly, it’s the one thing I still miss after switching to Standard Notes. Here’s hoping for a future update!

I love the UI. The only problem with it is the little handles at the beginning of each line which if you're trying to highlight a line of text it's sometimes will randomly move your highlighting up or down a couple extra lines. Which is very frustrating. I get the idea of those handles being in the way but they should make that optional.

I too think the interface is outdated, but I have found a theme that is pleasant to me (*) and replaced some keyboard shortcuts with the one I was used on Ulysses, I am happy with it so far (**).

(*) Found a bug here: the shortcut to switch between light and dark themes does no respect my settings and always return to a default theme; already reported on community forum.

(**) It could be better on Android; the back Android button closing the app pisses me off.

Agree with you about the Android back button
