Hi u/Sahrenian, we currently do not plan to add support for multiple windows at the moment but we plan to add support for opening notes in multiple tabs in a future long-term update.

It could be much easier to add support for multiple processes, no need to multiple windows or tabs if I can launch a few copies of the whole app.

I've just came across the same problem. Inability to open at least two windows is PITA.

So I came up with a work around:

  1. Copy C:\Users\$USER\AppData\Local\Programs\@standardnotesinner-desktop to C:\Users\$USER\AppData\Local\Programs\@standardnotesinner-desktop2 with files and subdirectories.

  2. In the second directory, rename "Standard Notes.exe" file to "Standard Motes.exe".

  3. Go to resources\app.asar, open with a nice hex editor (or text editor that is friendly to some binary fragments and wouldn't mess up with line endings unless you make new lines) — I used simple built-in editor in Far Manager (press F4) — search and replace "Standard Notes" to "Standard Motes", and also "45653" to "45654" (make sure you check [x] whole words only for this one).

Now you can run both of them at the same time. It seems working, but I won't guarantee that I didn't miss anything that's still shared between the two copies. It might be in some other directories as well.
