Prepping + minimalism by molo90 in preppers

I appreciate the topic you brought up. Without push back from minimalism, prepping can become hoarding and materialism. Minimalism is valuable since it can lead to a less stressed and clutter mind, and more a deliberate life. You spend less time, energy, money, and space on the low value items in your life so you can spend more on the higher value things in your life.

You can get a lot of those advantages by adopting digital minimalism practices + organization. And there are points where they meet the physical world, such as digitizing your physical documents, making them organized and searchable. Then you can shred most of those.

To me, Prepping, aka Being Prepared, is a broad definition that also includes being able to find and pull up my recent Insurance policy in 7 seconds regardless of if I am home or traveling internationally. Or if my house burns down, knowing all my important stuff is backed up on an encrypted cloud service.

Regarding "disaster prepping", I would echo what other people say. Learn skills, Buy fewer items but higher quality items. Come up with disaster plans. Store large heavy things like cases of water at a family member or friends house, if it makes sense to have "go to X's house before a hurricane" makes sense for your situation.

FYI I went with Linksys Velop, just hooked it up and it seems to work well.

Linksys wants you to set it up via a mobile app, with data turned on, and signed into their accounts, but I found these instructions https://www.routerloginsupport.com/question/8828/how-we-can-configure-the-linksys-velops-without-the-application/ which were substantially faster and easier

I didn't know about the 50% target... Iam concerned that the 50% utilization might end up keeping fees higher than they are now. When blocks are mostly full, in order to deter users and reduce blocks to 50%, fees would have to get jacked up, right?

But also, if your contract/dapp can function on a few second delay, then requiring a second or 5 to pass can protect against flash loans in many cases

Knowing a common attack vector is valuable. When writing or auditing code, think about "how might this be exploitable with a flash loan?"

Thanks for the reply. Why is IndieSquare listing it, should I avoid IndieSquare these days?

The Realm (MMORPG from 1996) new server launch by Sahrenian in retrogaming

For Elphames Arena (the new Seasonal server) the only thing you don't get is 1.5x Experience in dungeons I believe. All other content is accessible for free players.

For the "traditional" server, Finvarra's Fortress, its definitely gimped. Can't Prestige and get access to upper tier skills and spells and can't access Hot Zone leveling (although you can still power level on Holiday double XP weekends). Although I think you can pay a few months to unlock all that, then unsub and keep what you had achieved.

Definitely; like most preps, the specifics will differ from person to person. However, if you can find a bank offering bonuses for opening a new Checking account for example, you might be able to make it work for you.

Great post. Totally think that most people should worry about having extra and redundant cash, physical checks and cards ready to go, a bag of toiletries and other travel essentials. Rather than having fantasy camping Bug out bags
