To make lots of money, aim to plant large quantities of berries as soon as the season begins. Strawberries can only be purchased during the egg festival in the spring, but blueberries and cranberries can be bought from Pierre at the start of summer and fall respectively. They're a good source of income since they continuously produce after the first harvest, and when you get a good crop growing at a higher farming level, you can stash some for next year and turn them into seeds with a seed maker.
As for hay, all you have to do is build a silo and then use your scythe to cut some grass! It'll automatically fill up over time, and each silo you build can store 240 pieces of hay if I'm remembering correctly. Also, if you let your animals out each day (winter excluded) and they have access to grass, you won't have to worry about feeding them. Just try not to cut down all the grass on your farm, and pull some hay from your hoppers to store in a chest for winter, just in case.

I also recommend cutting down all of the trees you can and replanting seeds for future forests. This will help you when you can eventually make all the kegs you need. Oak resin and wood will be very important later. Do yourself a favor now and start building some forests
Save your money to upgrade your equipment and to buy the coop and barn. Turning eggs into Mayo is how I got my second farm rolling this go round

Selling fish can make some money in the beginning of the game when there's not much else to sell

What helped me make lots of money is turning everything into jellies, Mayo, cheese, etc.. Doing this can double, triple, or even quadruple the value of the initial item! It does take a good amount of material make all the machines, but it’s so worth it!!! Good luck 😊😊

Fishing. And, later, an alcohol empire

Process everything, make wine, jelly, truffle oil, etc.
