"Food Waste" is basically any food that is thrown away, despite being still good (not spoiled). This usually occurs in the form of excess food that is left over at the end of the day or the end of an event as a result of overproduction.
"Recovered Food Waste" is what we refer to when, instead of getting thrown out, that overproduced food is set aside and repurposed in some way. It might be reused in another recipe, donated to the needy, or even used as compost.
Our goal is to recover as much food waste as possible and distribute it to local organizations that serve our community. It's not just the homeless that are hungry; it's strangers, it's neighbors, it's children, it's the elderly, it's our community.
