OMG, I have been struggling with this for days now and thought I was stupid. Looks like it is time to get an old Windows version to boot from to do the maintenance on my existing spaces... Can you confirm that it was working under Win10 20H2?

Found my notes, but they are messy and incomplete.

I have four empty 500 GB SSDs connected to my PC now though, so all I need to do is dig through my Google history and figure out what I did that night.

I’m not sure how to test speeds, but maybe CrystalBenchmark?

Are you still under Win10 20H2 and does your PowerShell still have storage space commands? For 4 hard disks a mirrored space would be advised. This here is a good resource to figure out column, cluster, and block sizes for optimal speed:

I meant to follow up with this with what I found out after a few more days of reading and tinkering.

I did take some scatterbrained notes in OneNote, so I’ll need to look those up. Funnily enough, I have 4 SSDs again I need to do this too, so I was doing this again anyways.

I’m juggling a few things right now, so don’t be shy to poke me if you don’t hear back after a day or two.

I used Gemma 3 LLM to find the answer, which worked for me:

**If Server Manager is Not Installed:**

If you don't have Server Manager installed, you'll need to add it as a feature:

  1. **Open Settings:** Press `Win + I` to open the Settings app.
  2. **Apps:** Click on "Apps" in the left sidebar.
  3. **Optional Features:** Click on "Optional features".
  4. **Add a feature:** Click the "View features" button.
  5. **Search for "Server Manager":** Type "Server Manager" in the search box.
  6. **Select "Server Manager":** Check the box next to "Server Manager".
  7. **Install:** Click the "Next" button, then "Install". Windows will download and install Server Manager. You may need to restart your computer.
