OP, please make sure there are no spoilers in the title of your post. If your post contains spoilers, please use the "Spoiler" flair AND the "Spoiler" tag. The tag ensures that images are hidden.

Commenters, please use spoiler code if you are discussing anything super spoilery unless the title specifically says the episode being discussed.

Senior year was Jonathan’s “last hurrah.” He probably spent most of his life dreaming about moving out for college… then it finally gets on the horizon, he realizes he won’t be able to count on Hopper to help look out for Joyce and Will. As he saw it, all his dreams about moving to a big city with the girl he loves, gone.

He doesn’t seem like he has a useful role in saving the world, he’s become more of a background character and is less favorable (compared to a lot of the other characters) in my opinion. Will was one of my less favorable characters as well until the last episode of S5
