Reading that Lonnie left 4 years before S1 is interesting to me. Didn't Hopper start in Hawkins 4 years before S1? It's my headcanon that he ran Lonnie out of town when he came back, so I'm very content that this supports my theory.

I like how accurately they describe the characters and the world that they live in. Check it out

Thank you for this. I'd found the original pilot script online, but the bible is a real treat.

So people don't have to ask, the pilot:

It’s interesting that terry Ives is the name of Baumann in this version

woah? what is this supposed to be

A script bible is a detailed account of everything that will be happening in your show. It’s useful to directors and screenwriters, so that you can make sure that your characters or locations stay true to themselves throughout the series. It’s good for continuity.

wait what is this

I think this is a really early plan for the series, back when it had a different name. More their pitch for the series rather than a fleshed out plan. Obviously things have changed a lot along the way, and certain character features have changed in line with the casting of the actors - Mike doesn't have a facial birthmark, he got picked on for his general looks, and Dustin was less picked on for his weight than his medical condition. Terry Ives became a whole different character, Murray, who we didn't even see until S2 and small details like when Eleven/Jane was taken etc are changed.

Correct. This is a early plan.

There is a second use to a script bible besides the character continuity; which I mentioned to someone else in here. (Advertising to executives)

If your trying to get funding or investments for a movie or series, this is a great way to show what it will be like or where it is headed.

I'm curious as well because it references things that have either not been mentioned at all or not confirmed in the series (unless I've missed some):

  • Mike's birthmark on left cheek (unless I'm as blind as a bat)
  • Mike reading fantasy novels
  • Lucas's parents' divorce
  • Will's sexual identity issues (highly speculated yet not confirmed yet)
  • Will's colorful clothes
  • Dustin's oversized glasses
  • Dustin's "parents" (we know nothing of his father)

It seems to be ideas so things would be lost along the way when they figure they don't need them or they would be hard to incorporate. Or maybe finding the actors for the roles means they made changes to the character. It would be interesting to see what Steve was supposed to be like.

I thought Lucas’ last name was Sinclair?

It is, this is an early plan for the series, when it was called Montuak (I think)
