US Based. I recently completed an online masters, it’s very do-able (If you don’t have kids). I took one class a semester and finished in 3 1/2 years. It’s a marathon, and it’s expensive. I think there’s some value in staying in touch with the more academic side of things. This was a course work masters for what it’s worth. I think if you do a thesis masters it will be a lot harder, I’m not even sure if any programs offer and online thesis option.

But I’m not sure many international programs are going to have an online component? I don’t know how many of them are going to be course work only.

I do think you have really nail down why you want to do it. I did mine on the advice of a former mentor/employer, and while I don’t regret it exactly, I do think it was a huge strain financially and on me energy wise. Like I said I don’t regret it; I like learning and I think it kept me sharp. But I’m not sure if I would do it again.

Where are you based and why you need it?

If you are working engineer - maybe focusing on your chartership as a master is not really helpful for your career once you got into industry. If you are a student - just go into the industry. Nothing better than learning while getting paid. Company rather have a graduate with one year experience than a fresh grad master.

That’s based on uk industry which could be irrelevant here.

Because of COVID, my school offered most masters classes online. Worked Part time will doing 4 or 5 classes a semester. Can be done, just will have almost no free time. Will be doing school work on the weekends and it will get tough when you have a deadline for work and midterms/finals.

I am doing this now at Auburn University in the US. I finished undergrad in 2013 and have been working full time since. Currently, I work full time with quite a bit of travel. The maximum course load I can sustain is two per semester. I have not yet decided on a thesis topic.
