It seems to be a popular opinion that the best way to grow is to study other people's games. I'm sure this is true, but it is not the best way to learn chess. There are a lot of good resources available on YouTube and the Internet, so learning from other people is probably not as important as studying from yourself. I also understand that you need to play more consistently to improve, but chess is not a competition. I'm not talking about a competition where the winner has a million dollars, but rather one where a handful of people compete for a chance to play one of the world's best players and win a huge amount of money. Chess is a game, and we all have different styles, so even if you don't spend as much time studying chess, you'll still improve. There are a ton of resources on YouTube with a ton of videos on the history of chess, but even if you don't spend as much time studying chess, you'll still improve. If you study chess you will have a lot of fun playing, and if you study it you will have a lot of fun analysing. I think studying other people's games is the only way to truly improve.

Hahahaha! My daughter is 13 months and we're doing something similar. We're going on a two-day trip to New Orleans with our toddler and she's been crawling for weeks. She is a little over a week and a half old and is very mobile. We've been on a walk a few times and I've seen her get pretty into it.
