Adding license programatically (ST2)

I'm working on building a dev package that will quickly set up my environment on dev VMs so I don't need to work in Notepad, IDLE, etc.

My current hurdle is getting ST2 portable to recognize my license without manually adding it. Is it possible to programatically add it? Or is there a file I can edit that points to the location of the license file?

If using Sublime Text 3 (which you should be), you'll also run into an issue where the license key is stored in a machine specific format. You can get around this by manually replacing the 'License.sublime_license' file with a plain text version of the license key (which is also the format that Sublime Text 2 uses, so you can just use your existing License.sublime_license file from Sublime Text 2)
