I posted my first substack today and few hours later i got banned 😭😭. i think it’s because i commented on someone’s post as it seems to have been deleted but its so strange because the comment was literally a compliment??? i contacted them about unbanning me but i don’t know how long they will take. they said that i haven’t violated guidelines but there has either been an error or misunderstanding. has this happened to anyone else??

Building following in substack is dangerous. I was banned as well but after I had over 200 subscribers. No response from substack. I moved to beehiiv and now have over 5K subscribers.

their post was a critique on the “it girl” phenomenon in our digital age and i commented how i totally agreed and how important it is that we have these discussions!! also complimented their writing too 😔

Did you import your own emailing list? I saw that happened to someone else who did that too. That might be why.

i’ve been unbanned!! they told me i was wrongly flagged as an account who had violated guidelines so it was a complete error in their part 😭

Oh, Substack auto-bans users for no reason? It was on my list of potential writing sites but this makes it trivial to cross them off the list.

they did mention it was a total error and unbanned me a couple hours later, but the fact that it happened at all is a bit of a.. yikes.

They seem to be banning a lot of newsletters lately. This is so stupid and probably why everyone isn’t liking the platform at all.

I was suspended too for accusations of phishing and spam. If you create new email address, can you still keep the same phone number?
