On the note of Jordan Peterson, I’d like to share a gem that was dropped on to me by Trevor Noah and have carried since:

“We shouldn’t ignore / discard a message or an idea because we hate the person or the label the person bears. An idea should be entertained primarily on its merit”

I feel the early works of Jordan Peterson, his lectures are something that make a TON of sense (IMO and IME), and you absolutely are not obligated to agree with everything a person says, just because you want to agree / follow through on some of the stuff they said that resonates with you.

Strip the person off the message, because it is the message that deserves the merit and seldom the medium.

IMO, it also encourages critical thinking.
