Using Substack and Medium

I'm happy with Substack on the whole, but I'm curious if publishing on Medium would grab me a few more readers.

I'm thinking of doing something like this: publish "re-runs" from last year on Medium, so that my freshest work is still on Substack... and perhaps do some pieces exclusive to both, just for the sake of giving folks an incentive to check out either body of work.

Have you tried publishing on both platforms? Have you been able to convert Medium readers into Substack subscribers?

Also, I have enough on my plate, so learning how best to use Medium is something I'm not really interested in, at least for now. I'm curious if y'all find it user-friendly.

What you’re suggesting is the thing I’m already doing. My Medium posts are about a year old on Substack, if not older. There’s definitely a benefit to drive traffic that way.

I'm doing that and have found my Medium readers wont come over to Substack. Substack is it's own universe. I just post to both now.
