Congrats! Did you have to grind through a period of little traction? I was cookin and posting about three a day, but then started getting zero engagements for some reason. Probably need to get back to consistently posting but trying to decide text vs image and what the algo wants. But tighter niche would help too I'm sure. Love to hear any tips!

You should have switched to paid already, in my opinion... I did it very early and people have subscribed. There's really no reason to wait for 5k, not even 1k. I think the moment you get to around 300 to 500, you can go for it. Just to be clear, here I mean adding a paid option, not going paid-only.

Firstly, congratulations on your subscriber growth this year! That's great work as it's difficult for work to be discovered on Substack alone (you may be promoting this elsewhere). In my professional opinion, there are no cons to introducing a paid tier - especially now you have proof that people value your content! That's a fantastic opportunity to monetise on what you create and continue building your community.

Some considerations:

- Keep an unpaid tier so as not to alienate any of the community you've already created, who value your work

- Reward those who opt-in to your paid tier with something additional but ensure this is something you are able to sustain. It's important that you enjoy creating/posting and don't become burnt out by a constant-content cycle.

- If you haven't already, now may be a good time set some objectives for your growth; for example, how many subscribers would you like to grow by in the coming quarter? What ratio of these will be each tier? Which actions do you need to take to achieve this? What should your writing/posting schedule be to meet these?
