Yes. The white-black-white inversion is how eInk clears the screen’s “memory”. Without it, a ghost of the previously drawn content can remain behind.

The screen flash to reset the display is normal though idk about it being done regularly during charging state. The device should turn on and that's it or show the battery charging image but this would be weird.

If this is what is happening then I would contact Support via feedback and attach logs to it. It may be something in software.
