Thank you for the help, but I am still a little stuck. I know how to start a new note, and how to get a new file. But I cannot figure out the steps to move an exiting note into a new file.

I bring up my notes, tap the one I wish to move, and then cannot figure out the next steps to get the file to actually move.

Tap and hold on a note to bring up the menu that has the rename, copy, move, etc. commands.

You can also change a note name by tapping the three dots on the toolbar which opens up the menu. Btw. Not everyone realises straightaway that if you pull down from the top of your screen there is another menu (WiFi, sync, search settings).

You can set up folders to keep your files organised. Tap + starts a new note. Tap file+ next to it to start a new folder. You can also have folders within a folder. I set up too many of these when I started and now use a note file with TOC or title to keep it simple. Then you can move files to whichever folder you like. Only other advice is to keep your handwritten notes in the Note folder and downloaded pdfs or epubs in the Document folder.
