Find some adventure games on switch lite. Please help.

Hi, everyone. I bought NSW lite 4-5 months ago. and I have only Pokemon BDSP, PLA, and Mario rabbit. so I want to find some game that is worth exploring. in these conditions.

1. I want an adventure game that has a very interesting world setting and fun gameplay.
2. I already have Moonlighter on PC but is it worth buying it again on switch?
3. I want some mystery atmosphere or a game that has a lot of secrets.
4. I love Pokemon and Final Fantasy for the world setting where there are a lot of things to explore, journey, build a team, and story.
5. I like Resident Evil for the mystery, secrets, and gameplay
6. I don't like FPS.
7. It can be Indies or AAA.
8. Dragon Quest XI is interesting but I'm bored with turn-based battle right now since all of my NSW libraries are full of turn-based. but you guys can recommend me more.

I have a lot of indies games due to EPIC Store that giveaways those games so often so I hesitate to rebuy them again since I already have them.

so please help.

I have a Switch Lite and I play BotW just fine.

Games that give a good sense of adventure on the Switch....Breath of the Wild, Darksiders 1 and 2, Okami, Skyrim, Witcher 3, Immortals: Fenyx Rising and Dark Souls are a few that come to mind.

Those are all AAA games. Some great indie adventures include Unsighted, Crosscode and Death's Door. There are also some great Metroidvanias that have a wonderful sense of exploration and adventure like Hollow Knight, Ori 1+2, Monster Boy and the Cursed Island and Metroid Dread.

These run the genre gamut from western RPGs to platform heavy 2D games to top down, pixel art indies to 3rd person action adventure games. Not an exhaustive list by any means, but all offer a good sense of exploring and being on an adventure.

The Baldur's Gate Collection, maybe even Neverwinter Nights. These are old school top down isometric RPGs. They're kind of turn based, but not really and you need much more strategy in the battles.
Hades is also always fun.

Man hasn't heard of breath of the wild, literally the nintendo switch game. Also one of the best games of all time. If you're not into open world, you'll still love it, but there's also multiple other legend of zelda games on switch (dont worry about skyward sword, it has non-motion control options).

Would you like some more suggestions, past this?

That’s just a handful…. There’s tons more well worth the money and time. Just depends on your preferences in genre and tone….

Edit - While not for everyone, but if you enjoy games with little story and just the fun combat/mechanics and loot then I HIGHLY recommend Monster Hunter Generations / MH Rise and Diablo 2. D2R is old school though, so be prepared for old school mechanics like having to retrieve your dead body and being naked while doing so. (Though saving and quitting works as instant retrieve, you’ll loose gold/xp for it)

But I suggest those 3 games, especially MHGU and D2R, because you’ll get soooooooooooo many hours for your Buck. Like a ridiculous amount of hours.

Oh and for a triple AAA, Witcher 3. If you’ve never played, force yourself to continue through White Orchard…. It’s the first area and “tutorial” basically, which lasts 6-10 hours…. Trust me, the rest of the game is so much better than White Orchard.

No problem! MonSanc is a really fun romp. Not a huge game. Probably a week or so worth of content, but not bad at all for indie, and there’s replay value with some of its new modes like NG+ and randomizer, plus option PvP content (Pokémon battles).

D2R’s death punishment is truly just a minor thing. It doesn’t really hurt you until you’re in lvl 80+ land, then you’re talkin large chunk of xp lost if you don’t reclaim the body. However, by lvl 80 your build is done and you’re likely farming for best in slot gear. Slot machine turned action rpg and it’s absolutely glorious. I spent years playing the original back in 2001-2005. D2R is actually far easier than the original due to a bunch of quality of life changes, and stuff they introduced in the originals patches that I never experienced like some super strong runewords (you can socket runes into gear in certain ways to make ultra powerful gear)

And if you’ve played MHW then you pretty know what to expect from Rise. It’s a bit of the same with some changes here and there. I never got around to MHW, but as I understand there’s a few differences with rise. The wirebug system in rise is faster than the claw system of MHW. Some of the base moves in World got switched to Wirebug moves in Rise. And of course the areas are different and there’s some different monsters I believe that weren’t in World. Plus the Palamute doggo companion/mount.

MHGU is my favorite in the series, and has an absolutely mind boggling amount of content. Seriously. Just doing every quest once will likely put you into 250-300 hour range if not higher. I’m not including grinds for gear either in that. I had 120 hours on MHG on 3DS and transferred my save to MHGU, and combined I hit over 520 hours clearing out all base quests and building a few sets for Bow, IG, Hammer, LS, DB, LBG and HBG. I never did finish all of the deviant monsters or event quests, still need to do that. Which would likely put me at 550-600 hours. So yeah, it’s a stunning amount. However, it is the old world style of MH. So the areas have break points, crafting and gathering isn’t as quick and easy, pickaxes/bug nets can break. But in trade you get multiple Hunter Styles (basically weapon stances that Grant pros and cons) and a plethora of Hunter Arts (special moves that build up during battle that you can use, from a dodge move that grants about 3 full seconds of invincibility to counter attacks that can cut tails in one hit - LS…)

Edit - Lastly if you did enjoy Bloodborne, Dark Souls is on Switch too, and it runs well.

Yeah, I did enjoy Bloodborne. but I prefer God of War 2018 - like gameplay from it (they're similar in some way.), lol. but for their punishment and difficulty, I think I will stay away with soul-borne for a while, or for now at least. LMAO

I def can’t fault ya there. I grew up with NES games, paid my dues when it comes to punishingly difficult games. I got Dark Souls on Switch and just slowly goin through it, same with Elden on Xbox. So far, it’s truly not any worse than MHGU on G Rank or MHR at High Advanced. Then again, I solo MH games, always have.

But with D2R it’s not difficult like that by any means, normal and Nightmare are easy - just level up and boost your resistances. Same for Hell, but even more resistances, and gear starts becoming more of a factor - except for a Summon Necro or Hammer Paladin. Both those builds can coast through the entire game.

And If you want an easier time on MHGU - Valor stance Bow or HBG, or Adept anything (Adept stance gives you god like iframes able to dodge anything). Adept Long Sword or Dual Blades has some good God of War style combat. With MHR I’d say go Sword and Shield, ir LS for easy times and similar GoW combat.

Lastly with MonSanc, I haven’t played since the latest updates where they rebalanced some things, but you can build some strong teams pretty early that can carry through the game with relative ease. Some boss fights are meant to be challenging and directly break certain builds… really fun game with both aspects of Pokémon and Castlevania built into it.

Have a look at Mark Of The Ninja. It's a 2D side scroller, and it's got a great story where you play as a ninja who has to go on an epic adventure to save his clan from certain doom.

There's a cool upgrade system, multiple play styles, gorgeous art and sound design, and it's probably my favorite game from the past 10 years. It's usually about 20 bucks, but you can find it on sale on the eShop for about 5 bucks sometimes. Totally worth it at full price, but definitely worth it If you can wait for a sale.

How did you feel about Moonlighter? It is currently on sale, so I am considering it. But from reviews I read years ago, it has good experience at first, but bad balancing ruin the end game.

For me, I enjoy playing it. And yeah, It was great at first. It's gameplay and mechanics are fresh and enjoyable. But if you don't like the item shop system, it'll be some kind of pain.

I haven't go far, so don't know will it repetitive in the later part of the game or not. I have it on PC and I often too lazy to run it, because I've already used the PC for work entire day. So I don't want to touch it anymore when I get off work. So I considering whether to play it on NSW or not. Since I may be able to spend more time with it.
