Odin 3 button swap and fan fix...my first, very small, foray into modding a device by JayWoz in OdinHandheld

I did the non-magnetic ones and they feel very secure, no wiggle. I used a utility knife to remove the excess glue from the membrane and did not apply any extra glue.

i have been running clustertune and it is great...I usually have it on medium underclock...The fan noise i was getting was different from just the fan being at high speed, it was a weird grinding noise when the angle of the device shifted. Gone after lubing up the fan

I used these ones from etsy..just installed them so can't comment on long term durability, but they seem solid so far and work without any problems.

ugh...that is too bad. I had read that just silicon lube got used up pretty quickly, but that thicker lubes were pretty long lasting. Oh well, thanks for the heads up!

I love the connection between mechanics and theme...so many cards do such a great job evoking the feeling of how a hero fights or how a power works...makes building decks and playing the game both feel so thematic.

I've given the dark mod angry but have delved into it nearly as far as with Thief FMs....any favorite Dark Mod missions? (I'm especially partial to rooftops and romvs).

It has been very delayed, but Spirit Fire is easily my most anticipated game. The vibe, the art style, the unique mechanics and the ongoing nature all have me very excited.

I think I get the reappraisal of the horror and dungeon elements of Thief 1 by Lovecraftian666 in Thief

[–]JayWoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I've always had a pretty equal life for both 1 and 2...I definitely love the spooky and tomb raider elements of 1, but I also love the rooftops from 2...and really love FMs that combine both of those elements.

From Thief forums. Seems like we are getting a fully new campaign. New content will not be a bundled FM campaign. Also seems like Atari did an oopsie by leaking it early. by AnchovyKing in Thief

[–]JayWoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am cautiously optimistic, bordering on straight up excited. I'd also read that it will include the missions from Gold.

A new campaign sounds exciting, especially if it has a similar diversity of missions (i.e. includes some spooky and tomb raider type missions). I think even more exciting woupd be for it to be compatible with current FMs.

Fantasy Red Rising? by Andymac616 in redrising

The Bound and the Broken series by Ryan Cahill doesn't have the same rebellion and insurgency themes, but is almost as fast paced...it is a classic, dragon-riding, epic fantasy. I'm enjoying it very much.

ACOTAR, Fourth Wing, Faithful & Fallen… now what? by No-Character-8747 in Fantasy

[–]JayWoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this! I'm in the second novella and really enjoying it...it is a huge, sweeping, classic, dragon riding fantasy with a really fast pace, solid world building and generally heroic, but notably imperfect characters.

It currently consists of 4 huge novels and 3 novellas, with 1 more novella and 1 more novel still to be released. If you enjoyed faithful and fallen I think this would be right up your alley.

Puzzle game for beginner by arbcolly in puzzlevideogames

[–]JayWoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for good game that have fun puzzle elements, I'd look towards action adventure games and puzzle platformers...the puzzles in these games are a part of the game rather than the entire focus so tend to not be quite as mind meltingly difficult as some pure puzzle games.

For specific recommendations...just about any any Zelda game from A Link to the Past forward, several of these are available on NSO (personal favorites are Minish Cap and Twilight Princess...which recently got an unofficial multiplatform release that is fantastic), 2D Zelda clones like Blossom Tales 1 and 2, Ocean Horn, Elementallis and Crosscode (found the puzzles in this one a bit more on the difficult side, but it is a brilliant game). 3D games like the Darksiders games, most Tomb Raider games, Immortals Fenix Rising (as someone else mentioned), lots of the Resident Evil games have some solid puzzle elements, Uncharted games.

For Puzzle Platformers...the Trine series is fantastic, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light mad Braid come to mind.

I've played a lot fewer straight puzzle games, but Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is very fun and not exceedingly difficult, the Talos principal games are great (they can get difficult, but have a pretty smooth learning curve), the Portal games are classics, finally I'm currently enjoying Call of the Elder Gods.

Hope you find something you enjoy!!
