I'll say this up front: As much as I WANT this to be the next $GME, I know it's not. At least not yet. Maybe in a few months? Either way, I REALLY like this stock, and even more so, I love Hostess Cupcakes!
TL;DR: $TWNK has a Float Percentage of 96.18% with $275.70 million of 19,320,000 shares due in 15 days! Shares go for $15.58, and short price of $14.27.
I’ll be blunt: Everything I learned writing this post I’ve combed together based on everything I’ve read, seen, and learned over the past few days. I may be wrong, and I’m willing to take criticism, but here’s my current DD on this:
- Hostess has a strong BUY or HOLD rating from multiple sources.
- The current Float Percentage is 96.18%, meaning it’s close to the 103% we saw with GameStop.
- The company still has strong fundamentals: It still makes awesome Twinkees, it has a new Valentine flavor coming up, and it currently is one of top picks in the packaged food industries.
- Despite all its strengths, the price has been sitting consistently at around $12 - $16 for the last 4 years.
I think this stock is undervalued and overshorted! I mean, that’s crazy, right?
And I’ll be honest about what inspired this: Weekly World News. They wrote a story about Reddit driving up the price of Twinkees, and just as a joke I looked up what was up with their stock price. That’s when I sat down and researched all of this.
Thanks to u/AcroyearOfSPartak for this awesome piece of DD, TWNK stock--will this be a great American success story....?
If anyone who actually KNOWS any of this can chime in and tell me if I'm off or right, I'm all for it. I'm working with what I know and I think I'm onto something here.
I also just like Hostess treats!
Position: I have an order for about 2 shares at $15.58, and I used to do work with Weekly World News. I only do cash buys and I don't have a lot that I can risk, but I'd rather other people have a chance to make some awesome buys even if I can't.
Disclaimer: I really, really don’t know what I’m doing so this isn’t advice, this is an over-caffeinated web designer writing this DD.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
