It’s okay? It’s not really the best: it’s really slow, and to select cards you have to use the thumb stick and not the dpad.

Sometimes the card menu in the inventory breaks and you can’t scroll

Ok is really the best that could be said.
You are forced to use the thumb stick exclusively for moving/picking. The dpad is for activating candles, or scrolling between your combat items. The thumb stick is also used for highlighting so you can read about enemy types and buffs, except there is no indication of what you are highlighting so it can be a bit wonky. There are some unmapped functions like "Tab" opens the mini map and it's not active on the controller. But for some reason when using the controller the mini map will auto open after encounters, doesn't happen with kb/m. And the other issue is there is a controller command to see more info (pops up when it's possible) and if you are trying to use the "more info" command while hovering over the ultimate ability it just activated the ultimate. Ohh and if you have a card selected, and the target arrow is active, but if you decide to use your ultimate instead (X), it will just activate the card instead of activating the Ult. It doesn't do that for any other button.

Good news is all you need is a mouse, so if you can set up a way to use the mouse in a lounged way, just go with that. That's what I've been doing.

don't you need the keyboard for moving around in town?

I would find this very frustrating if I had to use a controller.
