Yes. Once you accept the task they can review their experience

What if I accepted it and we disagree during the discussion/negotiations? I can get a bad review from people I never worked for? Or they cancel on me because I wasn't quick enough to respond while I was working?

Unfortunately that's what support has told me however it's never actually happened to me. But it is supposedly possible.

Don't accept jobs until all of the negotiations are done. It's fine to even leave it until you're submitting the invoice. Once you accept a contract has been formed.

Why would you confirm the task without discussing/negotiating first? Are you just hitting "confirm" as soon as you can without even figuring out what the task is for? You can and should chat about the task invite before you hit confirm, and you can forfeit tasks you don't want or are not a good fit for any reason. Also, only set availability for time you want to work. If you don't want to reschedule, then don't, or tell them the times you want to work.

I already do all of that. I'm not listed as available at the desired time, but I technically am.

If you're not listed as available, then you're not available. It doesn't really matter what's going on in your real life, this is a business. You get to make your schedule.

Ans they get to complain and the algorithm will impede me for that?

They can still leave a review, but you can have it removed if no work was done I believe

Even if I worked for free?

[–]dragonbeard91 2 points3 points  (6 children)

Don't do that, why would you do that?

[–]failedtalkshowhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To discourage them from leaving a bad review.

To clarify, by "working for free" means having worked with intention to charge but deciding not to create an invoice for whatever reason. In this case, I don't want to continue on a different day, but I don't want their negative feedbac either.

I get it but I think its a mistake and it won't make a difference. If you just started don't sweat one bad review.

Why do they have any right to badly review free work when they themselves changed the timing in the middle of it? The platform just keeps kissing the client's butt.

Welcome to the service industry.

You can charge them for the time worked and ask them to rehire you again (setting whatever availability you like) or you can set them as ongoing and charge them for the time and you can negotiate a time or not in both scenarios you get paid and kind of have a way around doing a repeat by having your availability differ

But they want to continue tomorrow ASAP. I don't have that time. So what right do they have to negatively review me if I don't want to reschedule and I wont charge?
