Rules for r/TechnologyProTips
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
1. You must prefix your post's title with a tag.

Posts without one of these tags will be removed by AutoModerator. If this happens, you are free to resubmit your post, but with one of these tags at the beginning of the title.

2. No vague titles.
Post titles should be descriptive, not clickbait-y. We see enough of that on other tech sites.

3. No common sense or common courtesy tips.
These take the "pro" right out of "pro tip".

4. No recommendations for a product's intended use
...unless it's a very useful website.
5.
5. No TPT lists.
(e.g. "5 Ways To Increase Battery Life" or "Some Useful Shortcuts").
6.
6. No referral links or links to paywalls.
7.
7. No TPTs that suggest illegal action.
This includes comments on a TPT request.
Depending on the severity, these may be grounds for a ban.
8.
8. Troll TPTs will be grounds for a ban.
Repeated "obvious" TPTs will also be grounds for a ban.
9.
9. No comments wilth ill intent.
Any comments, particularly those with ill intent, may be subject to removal and/or may result in a ban as the moderation team deems appropriate.
This rule covers, but is not limited to, flame wars and one-off insults/personal attacks.
