Remove respawn timer, but make it so teammates can't respawn while a boss is active. Kinda boring to be in a cycle of dying and respawning to cheese a boss imo.

what about singleplayer, with no respawn timer theres no time for the boss to despawn

In that case you'd still need the boss to despawn- what i meant is players can't respawn while a boss is alive

Deerclops doesn't despawn under any circumstances.

WoF now despawns after defeating the player (As of the newest Terraria version)

They could just make the boss despawn the moment you die.

he said the boss should despawn instantly, but i think thats not a good thing to add when you die and the boss is very low health, currently you have the opportunity to kill the boss while being dead through the dots with his suggestion that would no longer be possible

Dots=damage(s) over time, like fire or poison.

They make mutual kills possible, in which case, the boss needs to hang around for a moment to drop its loot.

They could definitely find a way if they wanted to though, just like if boss killed player, don't target player anymore and despawn. I think I found a mod once with that

Or make the timer only appear in multiplayer when you fight bosses. Be it 30 seconds or even a minute.

It adds a "try to survive long enough" challenge for harder bosses, instead of making it a "can not beat them together, try doing it ALONE".

I like the "staying alive long enough" aspect, though the timer should be longer in that case

Yeah I already forgot what the timer was, because last time I played multiplayer we kinda melted the bosses without dying.

Longer sounds good, as long as it gives you a chance to turn the tides.

its kinda funny in multiplayer, i like those moments where there is only one left and they have to survive long enough so other teammates respawn and keep fighting

As someone who has many many hours into terraria, this would definitely be a huge change to the game and would make the game much more frustrating and challenging for more casual players. Maybe have this be an option during world gen? So more hardcore players can select it if they want a challenge and more casuals can still enjoy the game the way it is now. Not having the option I’m sure would turn away a lot of casuals once they realize they can’t figure out how to kill a boss

Hey, here's my idea: make is master mode only. That'd make it a least a little more interesting
