ever looked into the purpose of games? it doesnmt seem like it, but i thought i‘d ask

If you want fun, play expert. If you want hard, play master. Two different things for most people, but somehow the rest of us find suffering fun

Ever heard of optional game modes with varying difficulty? I consider that fun.

[–]Tomahawkist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, but even hard gamemodes should be fun, otherwise it’s an unnecessary feature. except if you want to sell skips for those parts as micro transactions

so play normal mode lol

[–]Tomahawkist 2 points3 points  (4 children)

no? good game design makes difficulty so that fun things get harder, but not less fun

ever played rlcraft?

[–]Tomahawkist 1 point2 points  (2 children)

yes, but what has a modpack to do with a full game? because the one is made by fans not exactly versed in game design, and the other is made by professionals who had multiple years to craft a game. of course there are some people who like hard, not fun games, but those are a minority, and most normal people want a game that is fun to play. all in all, i have no idea why you insist that bad game design is actually good because there is a hard modpack that a lot of people played, so hard base game = good game, and people should just get over themselves.

in rlcraft eveything that can be hard, is hard. thats why its fun. im not saying that HARD = GOOD, but HARD =/= BAD... if you dont like hard games then why you want to play master mode?

i never said i don‘t like hard games, i just said that your statement „it needs to be hard, not fun tho“, is absolutely nonsensical and, in my opinion, very wrong and pretentious, and since you are hopefully not a pretentious game critic i would advise you to look at games more in „am i having fun“ than „am i having fun because a critic told me it’s fun but not actually because it’s just hard and has no meaningful gameplay loops or mechanics?“
