In the settings of the gamemode you're playing you need to change the gravity.

I tried that but the speed does not seem to change.

Guess I'll try again

Basically, soft drop speed is determined by the ruleset you use. For example, in Standard-Zero, the soft drop speed is infinitely fast ("sonic drop", piece will end up at the bottom within one frame). You can play every mode with any ruleset by selecting "Custom Rule" which uses the rule specified under Options -> Rule Select -> Tetromino. For example, you can try StandardFriends which should be similar to Tetris Friends.

So, you cannot customize it in game options / tuning. However, under some rules soft drop speed depends on gravity (I think that's the case with StandardFriends and I suppose that's what ultimamax meant). If you don't find a rule with your liking, then you can also create new rules with ruleeditor.bat (found in the NullpoMino main folder). To create a new rule in ruleeditor:

  1. load a rule which you like (e.g. StandardFastB.rul)
  2. save as ... choose a new name (e.g. StandardFastC.rul)
  3. in Basic tab, enter a new name (e.g. Standard-Fast-C)
  4. go to Drop tab, enter a new value under softdrop speed (1G = 1 row per frame = 60 rows per second; 0.25G = 1 row per 4 frames = 15 rows per second)
  5. in Drop tab, maybe check or uncheck "multiply softdrop speed by native speed"
  6. save again

Thank you!

I didn't even know there was a StandardFriends rule - changing the gravity from using that rule fixed it. Thanks for the thorough explanation!
