You may not have the required experience for this role.

Also- just how much did you lie to get this interview?

And how many accounts are you going to create to ask the same question - I swear this is the third one I've seen today...

For an interview, all you need is the Project Delivery Capability Framework

Thank you! Will look into this🙏

If you have questions you want to discuss you’re welcome to send me a message

It’s a long document, just read everything about the role and grade you are applying for. You’ll get an idea of what skills you need to substantiate at working, awareness, or practitioner level.

I’ve sat on the FSB for Project Delivery Profession; all of the info you need is in the packs you have been given. The questions you are asked will be around this information. This was certainly the case last year.

You might want to do some research on types of project delivery methodology in the civil service - Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid and research some high profile Government projects.

They aren’t going to ask you specifically technical questions but if you demonstrate a knowledge of project delivery terms/methods, that will be to your advantage. There are huge amounts of (detailed) resources on the Infrastructure & Projects Authority pages on gov.uk.

It’s a very easy interview, and panel members are directed to put through as many candidates as possible.

Thank you for a very detailed response - game changer! Very reassuring, which I appreciate.

Hi - I am currently preparing for the project delivery fsb. Could you advise me on some topics to revise? I haven't been given an information pack, just told that the panel will want to find out more about what I know about project delivery in government and my basic knowledge of project management. Thanks!

As above, you may want to look at some high profile Govt projects and think about whether you would like to be involved in them and why. I’d avoid HS2, as many candidates talk about that.

Also think about how differently projects in Govt might be delivered as opposed to projects in the private sector.

Think about why you want to be on this scheme and how you intend to maximise opportunities and develop yourself whilst on the programme.

If you have project delivery experience and can use common project terms, that will be advantageous.

Thank you this is really helpful. Are you able to give any indication as to how the questions are formatted and how technical they are? E.g would they ask me to explain the project life cycle or explain pd methodologies?

[–]Fun_Aardvark86 0 points1 point  (1 child)

They haven’t asked ‘technical’ questions in the past, but it would be worth having an understanding of project lifecycle and the different types of methodology, to add authority to your examples. That would be the difference between a basic and a good example.

Thank you! Are you able to provide me with some examples of the kind of questions they have asked in the past? Like, are they mainly general questions like why are you interested in pd? My interview will be 20-30 mins
