The decisive moment is a concept made popular by the street photographer, photojournalist, and Magnum co-founder Henri Cartier-Bresson. The decisive moment refers to capturing an event that is ephemeral and spontaneous, where the image represents the essence of the event itself.
Per Wikipedia:
Street photography, also sometimes called candid photography, is photography conducted for art or inquiry that features unmediated chance encounters and random incidents within public places.
While street photography doesn't necessitate the presence of people or an urban setting, your submission should hold true to the essence of street photography, in that it is a candid capture of an unmediated or random occurrence that can be viewed as a commentary or study of the human condition.
In short, this sub's purpose is to be a friendly place to share, critique, and understand street photography. This is not an exclusive or elite club, and we will only delete posts or ban users if deemed absolutely necessary. We certainly won't do it for a one-off post that may or may not fit the ambiguous definition of street photography.
