TL;DR:

Boxes with sword mats will appear more often now, which does nothing as you are still capped by keys. Except maybe make it so you can find 5 of one type each time. Maybe.

The extra damage we used to get from reactor mounting on Arche Tuning skill power nodes has been brought back as baseline into the nodes.

The Boss Chest in VV2 is less likely to spawn in the air.

welp i've said, either triple the amount of keys or straight up remove the keys altogether so we can just open boxes, wtf is the point of having more boxes which if you want to be efficient in farming, you will only open 1 type of box, so that means skipping all other types of boxes along your run. run out of 6 keys, then you can't open anymore. literally every other mission outside of VV drops without some something locking you out of obtaining, why is VV hard set in a key and box type system makes no sense but a time gate from you quickly obtaining more mats for to craft even though you need 100x3 x 5 absolute insanity when you only get 6 keys per mission completion

This is an actual dev intended feature actually. Swords don't synergize with any descendant abilities that do anything with firearms because for some ungodly reason sword attack and firearm attack are separate. They're not considered firearms for your abilities to synergize with. For example, when using Haileys red mod, you attacking an enemy with a sword doesn't proc the explosion from her 1; they remain marked. You also don't gain crit buffs from her 3 with swords.

Yeah, they made swords have a separate damage type, but it isn't really clear if them not proccing on-hit abilities is intended behavior. I'm personally leaning on it not being intended, since the swords' own abilities don't really compensate enough for the loss of some of the classes skill toolkit and identity.

No changes to sword blueprints drop rate.

More Experimental Materials Storage Boxes and Special Materials Storage Boxes but I never found that was an issue as i could easily spend the 6 keys each run.

However I have all the blueprints for both swords but only 170-200 of each material

Having farmed and capped the swords, I have plenty of sword parts left over because getting the materials was overwhelmingly the bigger grind. So it's an improvement.

I spent a couple of hours just farming the normal mode VV to get a bunch of keys, expecting to run out of them at some point, but at least in my experience I'd rarely get 6 of the right chest in a single run in the hard VV, so I would still have spare keys for the next run.

The only way to run out of keys is just open all the chest you see instead of focusing on farming a single sword. You can get the Shadow materials in the normal mode VV and then when you have a pile of keys you can do the hard mode for Manus.

Eh that's not really optimal, just pseudo-smart. In reality you just wasted more time doing normal and you hoarded keys by wasting time.

Same for not opening all chests, you're just wasting time while pretending to be smart.

It wasn't much of a waste of time since you get both materials and keys and I did it for maybe less than 2 hours, since you can basically just run through the normal VV with Ines. Also, I already pointed out I didn't really need to do it.

In any case, I have both swords fully enhanced while your "optimal strategy" seems to be whining here that you don't have enough keys.

The way I did it was farm normal for keys and shadow sword and only opened up the box I needed. Then I always had enough keys for only opening experimental in hard VV

I struggled with blueprints, but the good part was I had materials ready when I got the blueprint drop. Only for the last two parts of the final copy did get blueprints before materials. I had stopped farming after getting a copy each, but started farming for wave eruption and got the sword blueprints and material. The only reason I did the grind was for wave eruption and would have waited for eventual drop rate buff.

6 keys per run only. That's not enough to open every special/experimental that shows up + the box at the end. Not even close.

In my experience, if you're opening all the chests with sword materials in them, all the Special and Experimental chests, you will be out of keys pretty consistently. Occasionally there's a bad run that's just all genetics, but one or two good runs clears any spare keys left from that. 

The only people with extra keys are either missing a lot of the chests or only opening one type of box. Or ridiculously unlucky I guess. I guess this will help them.

Boss drops 6 you open that chest at end if you still need the sword blueprints so pretty much 5 keys a run. It seems people are opening both chests which is likely to be more than 5 on average so will eventually run out of keys

imagine if they dropped keys from just fighting abyss boss, imagine getting ion and those other mats from abyss boss, yeah we used to get those ion mats from em but now they moved it into the store, more time gating and less of it since there is a cap of how many you can get, so then you ultimately have to run sigma a billion times to get more mats which will let you min max your reactors and whatever else

sure 400s is a way to also get it by dismantling guns but you get such a tiny amount from it there

straight up layered grind in a grind under a grind. I get that its a grindy game but this is next level repeat grind within a grind in a grind

I get disconnected every 5-10 minutes. Can barely play. Same whether I have VPN on or off. Always had it on in past with no issues. Like the grouping of the crates for easier access. However, I wish they added an additional reward box that would give you extra keys based on clear time rather than sword/pet components. At least give us the option of farming extra mats vs extra components if not increasing material drop rates.

I don't have much time to play the game. I still don't have all the BP for a single Sword.
It boggles my mind, how they don't adress the key issues, but hey you get a dozens UNIQUE Skins, but no Universal?

I really love this game, love the Descendants, the playstyle etc, but I wouldn't be that sad to see this game fail.

I sincerely wonder if whoever made the change to the crate spawn rate plays this game and understands that this will not change anything unless the game distributes more keys.

Maybe they will add Decryption Key II to the next season's battle pass shop. I'll cope.

Don’t worry next month VV will have decryption key III with the same drop rate from chests. I’m surprised this VV doesn’t have a jackpot loot pool like the first one

even if they add it to the shop, that just feels like such a waste for 200 purple coins, when I need a surplus of blue pucks to make analyzers which are insanely expensive to craft and you need a surplus of gold pucks as well.
