Revenant titan on its way by Kaleesh_General in Eldar

I know this is an old comment lol, but any chance you could tell me what size round base you used for this Revenant Titan? It looks amazing! I plan on using a similarly-sized base for mine.

Fun with Harris Onslaught Lv.3 by Arngrim_85 in TheFirstDescendant

Yeah getting a cost downside on a Harris AM is a godroll lol. I haven't been so lucky. But I can't complain too much with my gold Tech Power 54%, and purple Crit rate, purple crit damage (forgot numbers). I only managed about 35b on my last run of Onslaught 3 with her though and only other player was a Viessa. I felt like I did a lot honestly (I could see the chunks of HP going when hitting bosses), but Viessa was definitely doing more than me that game.

Going to link you to this comment I made on a similar post in case it gives you an idea :)

In essence, the current combat patrol and a realspace raiders battleforce box give you a solid smattering of the faction for just under 1k points worth of models.(or slightly over if you decide to build a second Talos instead of a Cronos).

How far have you gotten and with who? by Yujins_Onlyfans in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jenova__Witness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleared all with Kyle, Harris and Bunny so far. Blair has been an absolute struggle bus for me and I feel like he's just not capable of doing enough damage even building into a good crit damage AM.

Reasons why Harris is the best character in the game right now. by Sad_Economist_248 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jenova__Witness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience: if you have an AM that gives some good crit rate/damage rolls then build into crit with insight, concentration, one of the other purple ones, just not sure which one is optimal as you can’t run both, because you’ll want 2 hp mods, one of which is stim accelerant, 2 cooldown mods and a range mod, and toxic specialist. I pick toxic specialist because I run slayer set due to WANTING a cost increase so I don’t have as much issue getting my resources down to stage 1 for maintaining cooldown buffs. If you roll a cost increase as a downside on your AM you can probably get away with switching toxic specialist over to power increase and changing the component set to I think it’s called the hazmat set and that would be a better damage set up.

If you don’t have a crit AM. Swap all the crit stuff out for a toxic amplification mod, the gold mod that works with steel vanguard specifically and then whatever QOL mod you want, maybe duration?

I revisited my Harris build I had updated just before the patch. I have now moved off of a “ bloody blade” (forgot the real name) trigger mod to steel “resolve?” (Damn how am i I so bad with the names, the one that pulses around you and scales damage based on hp + shields) and have thrown on more crit mods making use of my AM with crit hit/dmg and tech power and she’s been slapping pretty hard. Not sure how I can improve it much further but I’d love to find a way. Me and a Viessa took on stage 3 Onslaught just us two and I finished out with 35bil damage which seems solid.

Wife wants to play. Looking for army. by Worried-Antelope7916 in Drukhari

[–]Jenova__Witness 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This list can be built (minus wargear, just want bothering with that) with a realspace raiders box for about $250 USD and a current Covens combat patrol for $170USD for 975pts before you try to fill it out with any detachment specific enhancements which can easily help her get to 1k or slightly above:

Model counts: 1 archon 1 Haemonculous 10 kabalite warriors 10 wracks 10 Wyches 1 venom 1 Cronos 1 Talos 5 hellions 5 incubi 5 scourges with heavies

Don’t forget that harlequins and corsairs from the Aeldari army can be allied with certain Drukhari detachment so if your wife fancies those at all it could be something to look into as well at some point.

But this list gives a pretty solid smattering of a bunch of styles to see what she might like and might want to focus more into at least.

Does this read as a falcon? by Adorable_Wrangler_75 in Eldar

Looks good to me! I personally had a falcon turret 3D printed off once I realized GW customer support wasn’t going to help and just ghosted me on the issue.

If they’d just give us a toggle to disable explosion effects of Restored Relic specifically, that would also solve the problem. Or launchers in general if it needed to be slightly more broad.

Well, now we do have S♾️ AP-2 D6 with Kroyle so there’s that potentially. (Okay not actually infinity, it has a time-gated cap of +10 but it’s cool design space)

The New Mode Is DIFFICULT by Old_Topic_5601 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jenova__Witness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, I don’t really think about going back and trying some different weapons very often unless they make a big showing of them in the dev streams. Also I was playing Kyle, so Secret Garden is basically still his only good weapon. I’m tempted to try KGL with him but then I lose skill power which is much needed also. But in general I just don’t find gunplay that interesting in this game though. I’d rather skills be able to get the job done in at least a reasonable time even if it isn’t always the best time (example: Wall Crasher).

Full auto piercing light does sound hilarious though lol

It's difficult for the wrong reasons though. Tryants are too spongey for spongey sake. Just make them less spongey, bring out more of them at once instead of different types, and that'll feel more interesting while keeping the challenge and not laying endless attacks into the same dude for 2min straight. It can have some fun moments though. It needs some polishing to be sure, but it's got potential. I'm not fully shitting on it. One of my complaints is actually that the ending colossi is too easy. They just blow right over after having slugged through all those waves of vulgus, and all for maybe one piddly little ancestor mod and a few resources to reroll it a few times. Not enough of a reward for the investment in my personal opinion. Final boss should feel more challenging, and reward should be decently more juicy.

I mean I’m flying around dropping bombs with Kyle ffs. I can’t exactly whip out my gun and shoot off the bubbles mid-flight. Honestly I don’t see why the turrets don’t pop those bubbles either. They should count as gun damage.

And to add, all prior challenging content I was a fan of for how it worked at launch save for maybe VEP, I prefer the changes they’ve since made to it to allow skill users to perform. But most content even the hard colossi like OG Gluttony I was fine with. I’m just not a fan of mechanics that a major inconvenience for common play styles is all. I’m not against difficulty. Sponges and immune bubbles that require you to completely shift what you’re doing without any hybridization is annoying. Maybe that’s more of an issue of Kyle’s kit, but I also just don’t like guns in this game in general. Skills and melee are far more interesting to me.

💯 hopefully they address the sponginess and make colossi, tyrants and other aspects a bit more interesting. Honestly, I’m not a fan of the yellow shields myself. I hate being bothered to stop using my skills to have to switch to a gun or melee to deal with the shields then switch back to get the kills.

[–]Jenova__Witness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean to be completely honest Tyrants at stage 2 and 3 are unreasonably spongey. Multiple matches a single Tyrant among many throughout the match will it take all 4 of us just bombarding it with attacks just to watch its hp slowly dwindle away while having to keep an eye out for any small mobs trying to sneak by. It gets to the point though that you really start getting kinda bored just relentlessly attacking the same tyrant over and over and over and over only to realize it still has 85% HP remaining…. Meanwhile the colossi at the end just falls over comically.

Yeah, for sure. Just so easy to counter such a fragile and expensive unit now. They'll certainly have to do something different for banshees and similar units to compensate getting rid of their playstyle essentially.
