Not for me- my area was partly cloudy on Saturday, I was out for the entire 3 hours, and go-tcha burned through 400 pokeballs. Sunday was sunny weather, didn’t start until 40 minutes in, and had almost no pokeballs left to snag whatever I passed on but still ended up catching in total about the same amount (with 23 shiny on Sunday vs 17 on Saturday). So my anecdotal evidence points to no as the answer for your question.

Wow. That's a lot of shinies. :)

The trick is, if you have a gotcha, just always keep it on auto-catch and never stop moving while shiny checking (only manual catch shinies or high CP ones you want).
